Can I get the rest of the standard works in the same .exe format, or is only the BoM available?
I have an LDS Library in executable. It has pictures, ensigns up to 2000, times and seasons, etc. It is 42 mb in size. I haven’t updated it since I first worked on it 2 years ago but the e-mail address is still valid. I haven’t checked the other links in a while. I did this project before I started this blog so make sure you bookmark this site for future reference. I can put one together without the pictures if you need a smaller size file. As far as I know all the links should work. You will need a picture viewer for the pictures. Let me know what you think. I added the link above on the last line.

Are you planning on creating a pdf of the standard works with footnotes, or is there a copyright issue? Is there a pdf of the Old and New Testaments available?
Not at this time to both questions. I have a very busy schedule right now but if you or someone you know would like to do this as a project just let me know. I am not sure about footnotes being copyrighted but it might fall under fair use or non-commercial purposes.

I just tried to open the html file on this library computer and it works fine. If you have problems downloading from adrive try the xthost site. You can find the link at the top of this page. Just click on the picture and it will open the page. If you use explorer just go to file at the top of the browser and save as a web page.

Dean, if you number the files, then you can get them ordered correctly. For example, when I saved the Book of Mormon, I named the files 01-Introduction, 02-1Nephi, 03-2Nephi, etc. In this way, I was able to have them ordered correctly.

Is there any way we can get the KJV of the Bible as a part of the Standard Works in PDF format as well? And maybe even with the footnotes along with it?
The KJV Bible is available on http://www.lds.org. Also, you can get it on CD through the Church. At this point I have no plans to create a Word or PDF file of the Bible.
Does anyone know how to get the complete standard works in text for the ipod? I have a 30 gb video ipod. I found a cd online I can buy but I was wondering if there is a place I can download it. Thank you.

In the Ebook Reference Library, the Book of Mormon and the Bible Maps do not work. Otherwise, everything seems to work great.

Hillary, I am sorry, but it appears that the website has changed. I’ve looked around a bit, and don’t find an audio version of the French Book of Mormon. So far on the Church website there is English, Portuguese and Spanish in audio format. I did not find any audio versions at the Distribution Center website. Keep checking the Church website, I am sure that eventually it will be available.

When will Book of Mormon be available in audio in Portuguese? It will add another dimension to learning the language.
We have no idea when the Book of Mormon will be available in audio format in Portuguese, Ed. The Church does not make these announcements until it has happened. We find out when the world finds out. Keep watching the Church website (www.lds.org), and it will happen.
My mistake! I discovered that the Book of Mormon is available in Portuguese on the Church website: http://www.lds.org/mp3/display/0,18692,5297-68,00.html . From what I can see there, it is available in English, Portuguese and Spanish! Also, the D&C is available in Portuguese in audio format.
Today I just discovered that the Church website now has the Book of Mormon in Korean! This is progress, don’t you think? I think that the new language is Korean. It’s not Japanese, I checked that.
Thank you for providing the Book of Mormon .pdf. I find it awkward to carry my large-print quad back and forth to work, and this allows me to read the BoM on my breaks and lunchtime, and adjust the size on the screen so that I’m not squinting. 🙂

Thank you so much for the info. I work alot on the pc, so using this in PDF format is the start to me getting my life back on track. For the past few years I have kind of “rebelled” if you want to call it that, even though i bore my testimony many times of the LDS chuch, and my religious aspects.

Joey, have you checked on the Church website to see if they have a version compatible with your phone? They have downloads for most handheld devices. Just go to http://www.lds.org and click on Gospel Library, then click on Media Formats, then Handheld (PDA), and you will get a list of what choices of device you have. I don’t know what software your device uses, but it may be one of the choices available.

Dani, I am sorry if I misunderstood what you were asking. Were you asking if the Book of Mormon and other LDS literature was available in the country of Romania? If that is your question, again, you can ask for any LDS literature at the Mission offices. They could help you to obtain LDS literature. Or, you could ask at the local LDS meetinghouse. We cannot send you literature through the mail. What we have on this website is available as free downloads. Another website that has LDS literature available is http://www.cumorah.com . I hope that I have been of help this time.

I am writing from the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, and sadly the downloads are blocked by the LDS church internet filter.
.. if you think I am misleading you, go to your nearest Family History Center and try and download it.
Alan, the downloads are available on this website. You need to use a computer that does not block downloads. If you have a home computer, you could download the PDF file easily and save it to your harddrive. If you don’t have a home computer, then you may need to visit your local library or an internet cafe, where you could download the file and save it to a CD or flashdrive. Of course, you have to have a computer to use the file, either way.
I just installed this on my Sony e-reader. It works a LOT better than the one on the church website . . . . just wish the footnotes were included!!! Oh, Well . . . . I’m happy anyways!

Terrence, we don’t have the formats for cellphones here. Have you checked at http://www.lds.org? They have many formats for cellphones and handheld devices. Our formats are for computers. Since Utf and I don’t possess the types of cellphones that hold books and such, we don’t have the software to create such files.
It took me a while, and a variety of searches to find the gospel library for mobile devices. It’s not easy to find! You have to know it’s there before you can find it. Go to http://lds.org/pages/mobile-apps?lang=eng and you will find what is available for mobile devices.

Dayvid, you need to ask your parents to help you. You should never download any files without your parents’ permission.
I have no idea how to download any files to a PSP, since I don’t own one. I am guessing that you need to download the files to a computer, and then you might hook your PSP to your computer through a USB cable, and then transfer the file to the PSP. I am sure your parents know how to do this.

Neo Pascalinah Mohai, if you downloaded the file to your cellphone, it is there somewhere. Unfortunately, we can’t tell you where to look since we don’t have your phone to look at. You should take your phone to the cellphone store where you purchased it and ask them to help you locate the file.

What does it mean in nephi 2 verses 26-28 the curse of my skin shall be lifted?
Mike, you do not say which book or chapter these verses are in, so I had to try doing a search to find them. I didn’t find these verses in particular, but did find in 2 Nephi 5:21 it states:
21 And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them.
From reading this seems to explain what you are asking about. One commentary I have states:
“The “mark of the curse” of the Lamanites
“The mark of the curse that came upon the Lamanites was that “a skin of blackness” came upon them. A major purpose of this mark was that the Lamanites “might not be enticing” unto the Nephites. (2 Nephi 5:21.) The Lord stated further that the “seed of him that mixeth” with the unrighteous Lamanites “shall be cursed even with the same cursing.” (2 Nephi 5:23.)
“This is the only reference in the entire Book of Mormon where a definite color adjective is used to refer to this mark. All other references call it, a “skin of darkness” or a “dark skin.” It is of interest to note that the terms “blackness” and “darkness” are interchangeable in the Hebrew. Even in modern Hebrew it is not unusual for some skilled translator to render a word black whereas other equally skilled translators select dark as the best translation.”
I hope that this helps to explain the “curse of my skin.”
