The Book of Mormon Project

New Guestmap

I added a guest map page. I was wondering why I have had over 400 hits on the Platial map and the only thing I can think of is that you have to sign up on their website to add yourself. I found a new guest map website where you don’t have to sign up. Just click on add yourself to the map on the right side and fill in the blanks. Please add yourself and tell others where you are from and what faith you belong to, if any. No personal information will be collected and used. Go <<<here>>> to view and sign the map. It only takes a few seconds of your time.  Don’t forget to tell others about this site. Thanks.

What religion do you belong to?

Hi, Everyone!

I am doing a survey of visitors that come to this site. I would like to know what religion you belong to, if any. Please leave a marker on the Platial map in the lower right hand corner on the right column telling me where you are and what faith you belong to. No names or personal information will be collected and used. I am just curious on who is visiting here and what faiths they belong to. Thanks.

Send a Book of Mormon by e-mail.

As part of a missionary effort to give out Book of Mormons I have created a Book of Mormon e-book in PDF format that is small in size, about 1.7 MB. Most e-mail accounts can send attachments this size. This is a safe alternative to give a Book of Mormon to all your family, friends, and everyone else. With millions of people online worldwide this would be a great way to introduce the Church to non-members and to give copies away in places where it is difficult to do missionary work. I would encourage you to talk about and place this website address to all the places you visit on the internet. Thank you.

Update: If you want to e-mail a Book of Mormon to your family and friends go to scribd.com and click on the “Send to a Friend” link on the right side. Or you can send them this direct link for them to download. Just right click on link and click “copy link location” and past the link into your e-mail message. When they click on the link it will open a page to adrive and start downloading.

A short timeline of the Book of Mormon.

Here is a time line of the Book of Mormon:

1. First compiled by Mormon on a set of gold plates around 400 AD from a collection of Nephite historical records that spans about 1000 years. The Nephite record was first started by Lehi about 600 BC and finished by Moroni, who was the son of Mormon, in about 421 AD.

2. This record was buried by Moroni in a hill near Palmyra, New York in 421 AD. Later, he would appear as the Angel Moroni to a young Joseph Smith in 1823 to show him where he buried the records.

3. In 1827 after Joseph Smith received the gold plates, he spent the next 3 years translating the Book of Mormon.

4. First published on March 26, 1830 in Palmyra, New York in English. 5,000 copies were published by E. B. Grandin.

5. As of 2005, there are 104 different language editions now in print, including 74 full editions of the Book of Mormon and 30 editions of Selections from the Book of Mormon. Each year since, more international editions have been published.

You can view the entire Book of Mormon events online and can be saved on your computer.  Download      <<<here>>    or   view    <<<<online>>>.  You will need a PDF viewer in your browser to read online.

For all you Trekkie Mormons

I found this website while cruising around the internet last night. A Book of Mormon in Klingon!! Maybe we can recruit some Klingon missionaries. :) The site has not been updated in a while. There are only a few books listed. The e-mail link doesn’t work but the rest of the links does. This would be a fun way to read and learn about the Book of Mormon, especially for Family Home Evening nights. Go check it out.

Update on site.

I am trying a new file storage site. I should be easier now to download the e-books. If you have any problems please let me know. I also added an audio link from the official LDS church website. You can download the entire book or individual files. They are in MP3 so it should work on most audio programs. Go to the downloads page for the audio link.

I finally finished a new version of the Book of Mormon e-book. This version has navigation links and each book has its own chapter list. I changed what normally would be blue navigation links to black to make it less distracting to read. Next I will work on a Book of Mormon picture art e-book and pdf download. I am still working on a pdf version of the Book of Mormon. If you see any problems or have any suggestions please leave a comment. Thank you.
You can download the Book of Mormon e-book here.
